It was a busy night there, and I had a long wait as a result- but that was fine. When the nurse checked on me I was calm and polite and very clear headed, so he was very nice to me. He apologized for the long delay, but there had been a major car crash. I replied that mine was not a life-threatening injury and that I knew I was a bit down the priority list as a result and that I was fine with that, as long as I could have pain meds.
They were all very nice to me and took good care of me once they has the crash victims taken care of.

Make the most of your time off, and take as many yummy pain killers as you can.
Do you have someone to mop your fevered brow?

She's being very patient with helping me into the shower. I also have my kids to help me with things, so I have a good network of support. And another friend is coming over in a few hours to make breakfast for me.
It's a bit humbling, but a good feeling when people start appearing out of nowhere to care for you when you're down.
