I have my computer set up in my spare bedroom, but I want to have a supplemental monitor in my living room. The lenght of cable required is about 10 m. I have spoken to a few sales people and our techie people and they have told me that no such length of cable exists.
why?
Wud it overheat, signal fade.?
Surely if not commercially available such a length of cable could be made by soldering the ends onto custom cut cable.
please include as much jargon as possible in replies as I am used to feeling stupid concerning anything computery.

They are talking bollocks. I have a 30m long one and at work we have cable longer than that to take the PC signal to the projector. www.amazon.co.uk/10m-monitor-adapter-cable-HD15M/dp/B0000992ZE just make sure you get the right ends.

It'd be excellent. Although it'd probably be full of people telling comic anecdotes and talking about their dinner.

our computer techie guys are normally great, (they do actually know how to do everything), and I've just never got around to the habit of looking online for stuff.
Im terrified THEY are going to steal my identity.

Otherwise auditoriums wouldn't have projectors in them. And they patently do.
