I think the best advice I can give you is not to believe everything you read on the internet.
there's an awful lot of medical information out there, unless it's been published and peer reviewed it's not trustworthy.

NHS Direct do a health information service
ring them up and ask for information about the disease and they'll compile all the info you need and email/post it to you.

The last doctor I saw
looked up my condition on www.patient.co.uk for treatment ideas, which I found slightly odd.
