I support the vintage in this post. It sounds beautiful. Pics?

Well
In love with this www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/The+Freida+Dress

and could maybe make this or something similar work for me

I like the Oasis one a lot
the Frieda dress is very pretty too, if slightly more summery.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:44, Reply)
Both weddings are in Summer :)

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:46, Reply)
I'd say go for the first one
it's gorgeous.

:D

I've just checked that out.
Start of a very holly golightly look if you play your cards right.

Second one looks like something Gary would wear.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:45, Reply)
I really prefer the Holly Golightly one
Poor Gary...

Nice big hat, long gloves, stilettoes and a lovely patent leather shilton clutch bag.
All in black. Will you be wearing the appropriate glasses? Black horn rim shades if possible.

Sorted. That looks really sexy. I'm just off for a minute.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:51, Reply)
You think a hat?
Do people still wear hats?
I thought flat shoes with bows on to play up the flapper thing.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:57, Reply)
Oh yes, still hats.
If you really want to go flapper then obviously it has to be cloche. Darling.
But not flats. Kitten or bobbin help the legs you know, add emphasis to the shape of the calves, a must with that length dress.
Christ I've spent too long shopping for wedding gear with the wife.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 17:10, Reply)
You're right about the shoes
Just don't want to be in any pain...
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 17:12, Reply)
or if not a full hat
then one of those little hair clips with netting. Think they're called fascinators
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 17:14, Reply)
They are a bugger to keep right on the day.
I've seen tons discarded before the end.

I do like fascinators though. They do exactly that.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 17:25, Reply)
Buy them early and wear them round the house.
You know it makes sense. On the day carry some of those gel sticking plasters with you. Compeed do them.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 17:27, Reply)
Oasis would need some colour in your shoes and/or hat to give it a summery feel

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:46, Reply)
Yay, I thought that.
I'm learning...
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:47, Reply)
The oasis one crashed my browser
so you should go for the first one.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:48, Reply)
that's the one I like best
Well done
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:50, Reply)
First one first one first one.
The second one is a little drab for a wedding.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:51, Reply)
I love youuuu

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:57, Reply)

My hotel was next to the biggest vintage store in New York when I was there.
There was a 70% off sale as well, I didn't go in though.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:43, Reply)
That crunch you just heard was the sound of my jewheart breaking.

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:43, Reply)
My cousins went in though
and spent a good hour talking about it to the hot barmaid when we were in a bar that evening. I watched the basketball.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:44, Reply)
Ladykilla!

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:45, Reply)
Oh Chompy.
You should have dazzled her with your golden paperclips or something. Then she'd have been yours.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:45, Reply)
I couldn't get them through security at the airport
:(
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:52, Reply)
Vintage shops always smell a bit too musty for my liking

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:44, Reply)
That's my favourite part.

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:53, Reply)
Argh!
Why the hell not? This is unforgivable.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:49, Reply)
I went to the UN instead.
It was only womens clothes by the look of it.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:50, Reply)
So?
You'd almost definitely find something that would look good on you.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:52, Reply)
Careful applebite that could almost be a compliment.

(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:53, Reply)
I'm calling you a woman.
Take it as you wish.

If I'd known this in advance I would have made you promise to go in so you could report back. I need more corsets.
(, Wed 28 Apr 2010, 16:55, Reply)
