Edit: it was quite flappery (not 60's at all) and it would look fantastic. You should buy it anyway, or maybe ask your dad to just give you the money to get it

It's cos she wants me to wear a big brimmed hat, a dress that costs sevenmillionpounds from Coast and dress up as Audrey Hepburn and she won't even BE at either of the weddings.

but why not email her a Coast dress and tell her that's what you're getting if she won't be there? Then maybe say to your dad you've changed your mind back to the Frieda dress

Nah, she'll demand evidence.
I'm just gonna pay myself. I was going to do that anyway and whenever I take anything from her I pay for it. And she is the purse strings, so although it's me dad's dosh she has the final say.
