I'm probably as unqualified as it's possible to be..but I like the dress and the hat. However I do think the dress is more glamorous than the hat. The hat is great but my mental images of that time are of them being worn with more "practical" wear or (at the risk of agreeing with your Mum)with overcoats. Of course, there's no way that such a dress should ever be covered up by an overcoat.
Do you like this type of hat at all?
