Dorian gets wheeled out as a play or film when the political setting requires it.

Whenever I read a book that deserves a film it seems it has already been a TV mini-series.

Then there was Revolutionary Road which I really wanted to be a film but which inexplicably I have not yet seen.

HW&tEOTW would have to be made in Japan though
I wouldn't really want Hollywood getting its mitts on it, and making the main character American, and the setting New York or something ridiculous like that.

There was a decent older version of Dorian Gray but it strikes me that there is just so much potential which is pretty much untapped in how to explore it
