saying contrast was a catchall for "buggering about with in photoshop"in most of my pics the sky has incredible detail, as does the land but is just a bit dark, so will only need a bit of tweaking.

CoolDefinitely try Image/adjustments/shadows and highlights. It gives an excellent level of control over dark pics.

Tweaked slightly with the shadows/highlights tooland maybe some saturation boost
