My motivation was always to be retired by the time I was 50. I just missed it.
However, as with anything there are sacrifices. You can't have it all unless you are independently wealthy to start with. I missed a lot of boy growing up and inadvertantly contributed greatly to the wifes short dance with the Black Dog. However all is well that ends well.

Wife is now happy in her chosen career (took 25 years to get there but she's ok now) and I'm a house husband. I guess what I'm really saying is make your mind up, focus on the long term aim and work towards it. You may get there you may not, but rest assured, if you don't enjoy it you probably won't get anywhere near.

One of my favourites.
I have it as a ringtone.

I have it on a single with Misty Mountain Hop on the other side. It was bought in the NAAFI in Berlin in 1974.
Supermodels queue up in the street just to try and get a glimpse of me sliding it out of its sleeve.

That's worth quite a lot of money even in poor nick, you know.
