My friend went to see Millwall play at the Millwall ground a couple of years agoAs a supporter of the away side, he found himself in a crowd surrounded by police at all times up until they were safely ensconced in the away side seating. Fences separated them from the home side. After the match had finished, the Milwall fans were literally locked into the stadium while the police led all the away fans down a high-fenced walkway that led them straight to a tube station, and made sure all the away fans were on a train before they let any of the Millwall fans out.
Kind of justifies your rant, really.
