We were only allowed Diet 7 Up as this didn't have any "E numbers" apparently.
I wasn't allowed to watch Grange Hill either in case it gave me a "common accent". My mother. What a twat.

I also wasn't allowed to have the BCG jab at school. Apparently my mother said "my son will never mix with anyone who has TB".

12 years after this I began volunteering with the homeless, who are a high risk group for TB.
