Ah - fair enough.On the other hand, Wikipedia gives about 5 billion years before it becomes a red giant: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun#Life_cycle . But I know not everyone trusts Wikipedia, so I checked NASA. They say 5 billion, too www.nasa.gov/worldbook/sun_worldbook.html .
