I was ten a day for about as many years
I promised myself I'd give up before I hit thirty, so I did.

I reckon the best way to give up smoking is to actually want to. If you aren't sure, you're going to fail no matter how many patches you slap on.

At the risk of sounding smug, I went cold turkey. It was hellish for a couple of weeks and my temper was on a knife-edge, but the regular craving eases off remarkably quickly. It's the stress-fag instinct that's the hardest to shift.

I think I would miss the first cig after a meal the most.

I never developed that particular habit
but the not-smoking-with-a-beer urge was a total cunt to get rid of.

It's the psychological habit that's the addictive part of it. By the time you've broken that, your body's already got used to the lack of nicotine.

I am a little jealous of those who still smoke
I'll never look that cool again :(
