Be careful of affectationsLike Spiffing. Yuck. Should only be used with tongue firmly in cheek, and then sparingly. Awesome is a good word for fortunate happenings beyond the usual day-to-day humdrum. A little ironical what with the associations with surfer dude types in the movies, but it's widely used nowadays. There's a lot of mileage in Awesome.
If in doubt Good is a good word. Don't come out with some poncey 19th century tongue-twister just because you're confused and gasping for "interesting" words.
