rather than a "Save As" option from iTunes.
Just copy over your iTunes library to an external drive, then you can connect that to another computer and import it again.
Or, as bill says, get a program which allows to extract the files from the iPod directly to your own computer.
If that doesn't work, get in the car, go to your dad's and steal his computer.

They have a reset button that you poke with a biro, and 9 times out of ten it's job done.
If not, you plug it into a computer to which you have downloaded the recovery tool, and whether or not the buttons are working, it will do a complete Lazarus.

would be too small for an iPod nano. But then I'm a bloke, and men's clothes have proper pockets.
Which is just as well, as I end up carrying half of my girlfriend's crap around in my pockets if she doesn't have a bag with her.
And if she does have a bag, it seems to have more stuff in it that a Sherpa would need to climb Everest...
