yeah the portacabins became more or less permanent as I remember
and plenty of icecream vans. Not to mention the obligatory drugdealer lurking outside the gates

We never had the drug dealers.
It was just a case of the odd '5th former' (god knows what that is in modern school parlance, I'd guess 9kg) girl who had a bloke who was allowed to drive.

They were deemed 'well sophisticated, innit'.

I remember 'canned'* drink getting banned after someone lobbed someone at some girls head and it causing a big bruise. This was worrying for me, as I'd set up a 'canned drinks business' (I'd worked out I could get shits loads of pop for fuck all squared from Tesco's in Eastville and knock it out at a profit). However, this was fine as my customers were still mad for warm fizzy drinks and the 5p per can I was making continuted.

*The only vending machine on site did 'tea', we campaigned for a payphone, but that was refused.
