I would love to do the summit but I don't think I would be allowed due to my epilepsy (even though this has been stable for a while). I went to stage one base camp in 2001 - 21,000 feet I think. Probably the best experience of my life.
I would kill to be able to stand on top of the world just once.

A lot of it is medical insurance. The experienced leader of each attempt (or guide or whatever they are called) also get about $10k - danger money I guess.
