Before The Apprentice.
*Plots early dinner and some wine*

Tell me you're going to be eating this evening.

Nope
even recorded delivery Irish post takes a couple of days.

I know it seems strange I'm not asking friends to help me out. But sadly college is a very incestuous place. And the last thing I need is the chaplain, the nurse or whoever to think that I'm unable to cope with regulating my finances

But going 3 days without food is crazy
You'll make yourself ill.

When you get some cash in, let us all know and we'll prepare you a shopping list of basics that'll be cheap and will keep you from starving.

it's been two days or so
to be honest I've gone longer on various diets etc.

The basics idea is a good one though

When are you expecting money to arrive from your folks?

(, Wed 27 Oct 2010, 16:52, Reply)
sent yesterday
so I'd assume tomorrow or Friday (they live in Ireland)

Fingers crossed.
I don't like the idea of this 'no food' diet.

Can a fellow student not make you a sandwich or something?

It might sound paranoid
but I genuinely don't want to risk it. I had a bad time last year with college continually checking up on me, making sure my room was tidy, booking taxis for me that sort of thing.

I don't think asking someone to make you a toastie is going to get walfare on your case.

You'd be surprised
one time I complained that my legs were feeling sore to a friend. An hour later I had someone knocking on my door asking if I needed to go to the hospital
(, Wed 27 Oct 2010, 17:14, Reply)
That's half a story.

(, Wed 27 Oct 2010, 17:15, Reply)
Now it's a whole one

(, Wed 27 Oct 2010, 17:19, Reply)
That's mental
Surely the whole uni thing is your first steps out on your own.

Therefore, if you need to go to hospital, you'll phone for an ambulance yourself?
(, Wed 27 Oct 2010, 17:22, Reply)
It's mental all right
luckily a combination of me persistently telling them in the politest possible way to fuck off and leave me alone, and simply locking my door meant they've buggered off and left me to it.

They only do it to me, because I was badly ill in my first year, and the college nurse failed to pick up on it even though I saw her 3 times. So they're overcompensating
