Somebody made an interesting point on radio 4 this morning(And I apologise for explaining this poorly but I was half-asleep at the time)
But he was saying that, now the Republicans have more power, it may spur the Democrats to work a lot harder to push these reforms through, rather than trying to do it piecemeal and keep everyone happy, and so if Obama et al decide that they really do want to go for these reforms then this blow might actually work out for the best.
