before I had my dog, I'd told him I wanted to go to a shooting range
he used to tell me to shoot myself in the foot so I'd know what it felt like to be shot, and then I'd be hesitant to use a firearm

yeah, if you are shooting yourself you blatantly want it through a fleshy part of your arm or something
