I broke up with this one, and felt quite bad about it, but now I think he's being a bit of a prick, and I feel good about his mum not having a reason to be so smug about him.

No, I broke up with him
Because I hated him. And also because he consumed and destroyed my life. When I came out of the relationship, I was depressed, had no friends, no hobbies and no social life because he controlled it all.

I know the feeling
I hate it. I was very lucky because in one of those times I was trying to break up with him I got a 3 months scholarship in Barcelona, and that time without him made me realise how unhappy I was.
