I quite liked the Three Colours seriesbut really, my favourite foreign films are all from Hong Kong.

I went to see them all together in one night at the local independent film clubThe cinematography is great. You get so much from looking around the full screen.
A Short Film About Killing & A Short Film about Love by the same ddifrector are both really good too.
