I just bought Time Has Come, DJ Krush's Meiso and Attica Blues's Vibes, Scribes and Dusty 45s. I probably have twelve to fifteen of their records, from early stuff like RPM and Palmskin Productions through to Jordan Fields and Skelf.
Great label.

So I picked up alot of Mo wax stuff at the same time. The Headz series was good as it was an introducer to the label roster. I still listen to Lavelle mix stuff but I thought Unkles first album was bollox and didn't bother with them after that bar their usually good remix work like fear.

Psyence Fiction had a couple of excellent tracks- Guns Blazing and Rabbit in Your Headlights, but yeah, not that great.
The Richard File era stuff is a very different beast- I started DJing breakbeat when all that Unklesounds stuff was going on, so that got me into stuff like Evil Nine and Meat Katie. Rich File's work as Forme was top-notch- Percussive Thinking, Kick a Hole and Let it All Out are dark, druggy tribal greatness. FEAR is the best remix they did, that and GDMFSOB.
I'm actually looking for someone that would want to DJ Mo Wax stuff with me as a moist-eyed reminiscence of the era.

chuck in Ninja Tune, Rising High, Warp, Rephlex, apollo and I'm all over it. I've no idea what the kids of today listen to, and couldn't care less.

Did you see that link I posted to the Psychonauts Essential Mix from 96?
I got misty eyed at the tracks by Lamb, Major Force West and DJ Krush.

If you've just got the Meiso album, if you like 'only the strong survive' which is the opener you should get the single as there are a number of good mix's on it. I saw that essential link, I've got stacks of the essential mix stuff from that period as mp3's. My favourite was a Portishead one from 94/95. I think that the Lavelle essential mix's had commercial releases which I've got somewhere as well.

I got the CD single back in the day, but had to track down the wax.
The Unklesounds essential mix got released as Big Brother is Watching. Not as good as the longer Do Androids Dream of Electric Beats one.

The Androids one is the best Unklesounds, I forget what Music for a film is like :/ not exactly an outstanding review there. Lavelles Tribal one, and Global Underground mix series are worthwhile.

I liked the early Fabric one's - the Howie B is a goodun. I had forgotten about it being the psychonauts being involved on the Tribal mix, I remember it opens with that Quiddity mix by Max 404 - always a winna in da Rory House.
