I went to grammar school because the local comp wouldn't let me in.I was only 10 when I went to secondary school, and the comp made an arbitrary decision (without speaking to me or my parents) that I wouldn't be mature enough. My primary school flat refused to teach me for another year, said they didn't have the resources and I'd done everything they had, so I took the 11+ as a last resort and basically got 100%, more or less.
