I hate the organic thing too - I vote GM every time
I have to disagree with you about pizza though - to make from scratch if you've got stuff in your cupboard:
flour - 15p per base
yeast - about 1p per pizza base
sugar - 1p
oil - 5p
can of tomatoes - 21p - makes two toppings
1 onion -10p - 2x toppings
oregano - 2-3p
mozarella - 58p for 1 ball (2 x pizzas)
meat toppings obviously cost more, but veggie toppings like mushrooms, peppers or just plain cheese are really cheap.
