Then I will happily amend it to state 'artificial preservatives for example that are added to the traditional mix of water, hops, grain of some description and yeast that has been used for generations to make nice tasting beer'.

I'll do a trade, though. You work out what 'plural' means and apply it.

Oh, and all food & booze are made entirely out of chemicals? That either comes across as a poor attempt at pedantry (in which case go the full hog and say 'made out of atoms', which should actually be 'consist entirely of') or you've just been missed by a low-flying Gloucester Old Spot.
