You shouldn't be entirely surprised about the reversing thing
reversing cameras are far outweighed by idiots who fail to look behind them at all. If someone was reversing towards me, I'd rather give them a pip on the horn to warn them that I'm there, and risk pissing them off, than to have them knock over my bike.
