Now, has anybody else noticed, but the only film *ever* shown by Film Four seems to be Time Bandits.
Regardless of time of day or night, flip it over, and what do you see - little small bearded time bandit twunts.
Sure, they often advertise other films, but has anyone ever actually seen any of them!? Anyone ever switched it over and not found themselves watching time-traveling midgets on some far-fetched magical journey.
Anyone?
No, I thought not.
This is not what I don't pay my license fee for.

I watched such amazing films on Film4 as
*Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
*Fantastic Four
*League of extraordinary gentleman.
Sci-Fi played short circuit 2 at least 3 times in its "80's weekend" though.
Channel4 do normally show better films than film4 as well... Hostage was aces last night.

But Film4 isn't covered by the license fee...

No you do.
Film Four doesn't benefit from the license fee, but you need a license fee if you use any television receiving equipment (covers tellies, digie boxes, cable, computer etc etc).

The only film ever shown on Film Four is Time Bandits.
I swear.

^^^
The receipt of any television signal is covered by the licence fee.
Anyway, C4 was given a load of cash from the TV licence pot, to cover switching to digital broadcasting, so, since C4 is a non-analogue channel, it must have been, in part, funded by the licence fee.

Time Bandits is fucking great!
I even bought a copy of the Mail on Sunday once, because it had a free DVD of Time Bandits.

... not because it's only ever showing Time Bandits, but because they annoyed the hell out of me by changing from their £5 a month subscription to showing adverts. If I wanted to have my films interrupted by adverts I'd buy the DVD and have my wife read highlights from the Lakeland catalogue aloud while I'm trying to view it. Come to think of it that's what happens already. Carry on.
