Groovypoodle writes, "My mate once told his girlfriend that he didn't think it was working only for her to laugh and tell him he was hilarious. Saying she was 'too weird' and 'slightly violent' and that he didn't like her was equally hilarious. Ripping off her wing mirror, throwing it through the windscreen
and storming off in a huff merely generated an apology from her a week later..."
Just how hard have you had to work to get someone to take the hint and stay dumped?

As always.
A story will be added, when I'm less busy.
It will involve "falling" down some stairs, and a lot of amphibians.

Good morning HLT. Now that the b3ta server's back, shall we get out of eachother's stomachs?

Whilst everyone else actually writes "First" or something, he just puts a 1 in each box and then ninjas it before anyone notices. Grr! Cheat! I demand you remove your post!

if you always come first then I'm not interested. The fingers had me intrigued though.

I have powerful, knife-holding, bass-playing fingers.
But they can move at cobra-like speeds.

as (pretty much) impartial listeners, would you guys be so good as to listen to my band's recordings on myspace and give me your frank opinions?
I'd really value what (some) of you have to say ;-)

it's easier to make him overlord than have him take it...
we did some new recordings on Saturday and our drummer mixed and mastered them himself on Sunday

that kicks ass! Like a bluesier Gomez. That's a compliment. I like it. Yous have pretty good sound quality too.

someone had mentioned Gomez with that first song before (Blind?)
I'm pretty pleased with the sound, considering we managed to record 10 songs in about 8 hours, whilst stoned as hell.
this is the first feedback I've had that wasn't from my girlfriend, so it's interesting!
we're playing a gig on the 26 of july in Exeter if anyone is interested ;-)

I'll listen to your stuff at home, can't get away with it at work *frowns*
I look forward to it though.
I'll be getting some studio time with my band in the next month or so.
Yay!

it's good fun, and I think makes me play better, evidenced by the fact that I only play one duff note in a guitar solo on one of the myspace recordings, despite making them up as I go along
not cheap though, and our singer is unemployed, so we went the home recording route.
worked pretty well, but our drummer has got some good kit

By someone we know at £60 a day, pro studio *grins*
If our recording sounds rubbish then we know that we suck...

do you play?
£60 a day is nice and cheap
we were looking at £24 an hour....

I might change some of them around; there are a couple of songs that haven't been mastered yet, that I might like to put up, including the one song we play that I wrote, and a long jam featuring banjo and bongos.
We are going to be recording fairly often now we've done some and got a good result, and we have probably 30 original songs, so I'll probably keep it updated

It's hard to describe, singing, not screaming vocals.
People have said that we sound like an odd combination of Nick Cave, The Cure, and early Nirvana.
I don't like Nirvana...
And *shrugs*
I think they were over-generous.
