Quite agree
Although this 'look' is apparently down to hand-me-down clothes in some of the poorer parts of the States. So I'm informed, the more ill-fitting your over-sized denims were, the bigger your older brother must be, thus meaning you don't get your head kicked in on regular basis.

Kids these days though, do, as you rightly point out, look like tools.

Apparantly the theory is that you get your belt taken away from you when you get sent to jail and therefore have no way to hold your trousers up. If you wear your trousers halfway down your arse, it means that you have done time and must be a rude bwoy, innit?

I heard this theory from my 60+ year old aunt...
It sounds plausible, but so do all of the other theories.

The conclusion to take from all this, is that peopl who wear their trousers so low, are probably poor, and probably gay.
