I don't understandOK, so the landlord was fat, but why would he like the jumper because it was a medium sized one? Or is this some spiritualist reference?

Glad I'm not the only one not to get this.The only thing that came to mind was that the landlord would have loved to be able to fit into a medium-sized jumper rather than the XXXL variety he usually wore, but it seems a bit convoluted.
