This is a question Question of the Week suggestions

Each week we ask a question. The idea is to generate material that's:

* interesting to read, i.e. we won't get bored of reading the answers after about 10 of them
* not been asked on this site before
* fun to answer

What would you like to ask? (We've left this question open - so feel free to drop in ideas anytime.)

The horror, the horror
I've just made a spreadsheet, to itemise my Christmas gifts. It has coloured tabs. It has formulae. I'm so fucking embarrassed at the geekiness of it.

In what ways are you horrendously geeky? How do other people react?

Don't be embarrassed
Embrace it. I think it sounds like a fantastic idea!

I just spent $125 on a label maker. My work collegues have started backing away in case I label them...

Label maker abuse
I found one of these little circular magnets lying around the lab a few years back. So with the aid of a red marker pen and a label machine.....

With apologies to Calvin and Hobbes.

I laugh at websites...
...that don't validate to W3C standards.

Whenever I use JavaScript I have actual content in the noscript section, and I use descriptive title tags on all my links - those going to an external site have the words "Web Link:" appended to the beginning of the text - and external links have a special icon (like Wikipedia).

It's got to the stage where I can't type "&" without typing "&" instead.

I live int eh geeky world...
Only mine is more of an everyday thing than a once off...

My entire DVD and CD collection is set up as a spreadsheet. Complete with Star Ratings and a brief description and synopsis for the films...

I even have macro buttons set up to sort them by rating, time last viewed, actor/actress, theme (action/comedy,etc) and the number of buttons keeps growing...

I need a life...
