My great, great uncleWas on the Shackleton voyage (The Endurance one), and indeed, was one of the small crew who journyed the 800 miles to Elephant island (I think it's called). All the pictures of him I've seen, he looks like a grizzled adventurer too.
I like to think I've inherited some of his adventuring genes. I'm, however, a crap adventurer, and only been abroad 4 times, so it seems doubtful. Bah!
