This is a question Question of the Week suggestions

Each week we ask a question. The idea is to generate material that's:

* interesting to read, i.e. we won't get bored of reading the answers after about 10 of them
* not been asked on this site before
* fun to answer

What would you like to ask? (We've left this question open - so feel free to drop in ideas anytime.)

Ideas for sodding Christmas presents
Not to come across all bah humbug, but there are some people it is HARD to buy Christmas presents for!

And it's getting to that time of the year...

Now there must be people out there who have solved the what-to-get-for-grandma problem in past years, so why not have a grand sharing of expertise? Oh you wonderful people you.

My offering - a chocolate fountain (£25 inc p&p) for a family with 6 kids aged between 12 and 25. (Coz it's too damned expensive to get them individual stuff)

Now tell me what to get my grandma!!!! Please!!!

Hmmm...
Perhaps sensible wasn't really what I should've expected.

Bless her, she's so naive, she only recently learnt that she shouldn't call black people by the N word... At least I hope it's naivety and not racism...

Perhaps I should get her a book about what-is-no-longer-PC.

This year
my mum has actually come up with a blinder of a present.

Both my auntie and my gran (different sides of the family) have been pestering us for photos for years. We're all digital now and can't be arsed printing the things out, we all have computers so we don't need to.

But my mum just had the brainwave of getting them digital photo frames - they'll be able to have all the photos they want :)

And it's the gift that keeps on giving! Every birthday or Christmas we can add a new load of photos for them! Hurrah!

Now that...
...is a blinder of an idea, not only do you give them what they actually want, but in a format that you actually agree with, AND all future Christmas presents are sorted and free!!

Why thank you so very much... I'm going to have an evil laugh at my (your) genius!

I'm getting my brother and sister-in-law the same thing
Personally I think they're hideously tacky, but they're 'photo people', there are photos everywhere in their house (I never really understood this)
So I suppose they'll like it...
I find it hard to buy for them as well, they don't really have any hobbies, they think buying original copies of CDs or DVDs is a waste of money, don't have much time to read,... what to do!
I'd rather not give them anything and instead take them out to dinner or cook them a great five-course meal instead of ending up giving them bath salts, incense or anything like that...
