In the woods behind our garden...We built swings (tyre on a bit of rope),camps and trees houses, had wars with the "Maddison Gang" who had a rival camp down the hill.
We also dug holes and covered them with twigs and turf - perfect traps for the cross country runner who used to invade "our" woods during the week. I don't know if our traps caused any broken legs or ankles, but we must have pissed off a few runners!
I also set a trip wire, which when activated caused a large bag of soot to tip its contents on the unwary! I saw the rather splendid aftermath of a large sooty area with sooty footprints leading away!
