not mine:... but that of Samuel Holberry, a Chartist. From memory, so excuse errors -- but admire the careful phrasing, since Charterism (one man, one vote) wasn't always that popular with the authorities (although neither was planning an armed insurrection):
"... died in York Castle, imprisoned for advocating what seemed to him to be the best interests of England and its people".
Once upon a time, I just chanced across his gravestone in Sheffield ...
