This is a question Random Acts of Kindness

Crackhouseceilidhband asks: Has anyone ever been nice to you, out of the blue, for no reason? Have you ever helped an old lady across the road, even if she didn't want to? Make me believe that the world is a better place than the media and experience suggest

I just bought a copy of The Big Issue
Lol did I fuck. Load of shit, not worth the paper it's printed on.

Shame really.
I remember when it was quite good. What the fuck are they playing at?

you must be old.
I can never remember it being any good.

I bought it for the 'cherridy mate' and always found myself regretting it quite soon after

I hear they have a cookery column
Full of handy recipes for the budding tramp. 'Cooking With White Lightning' I think it's called

The vendor poetry was always good for a laugh
You walk by, suit on

I sit in the street alone

You fucking cunt.

They used to have the oft amusing mad world section in it
which I always used to turn to. And some interesting interviews too.

It is a shame.
They're missing the concept of "if you make a magazine, try to interest your readers enough that they will want to buy the next edition". Let's be honest: 99% of us are basically selfish bastards, and if we have the opportunity to give a bit of money to help someone out, there's a much greater chance we'll do it if there's something in it for us too. Like something interesting to read. They don't even have to fill it full of news and reviews to try to emulate the broadsheets: just avoid coming across as the mouthpiece for a bunch of pinko commie students. Every time I read it I imagine the editorial team sitting around smoking Rizlas, playing the guitar and chanting "Fight the system, Comrades!"

I buy the Big Issue AND drop it straight into the paper recycling
when I get home. Two good acts for the price of one.

I mean really...who cares what's in it? £2.50 isn't much, and the vendor needs it more than you.
