I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.
Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Famous only for the fact that it is so shit even the church steeple was bodged.

And the sofas, don't forget the sofas.
I heard a story that a man married a virgin in the church, and the spire was so astonished at this rare occurence that it twisted round to get a better look!

I look up at the cathedral, tut loudly and wonder out loud "Have they still not fixed that thing?". And then an entirely uninformed "Ooh, I wonder what happened to it?" conversation starts up nearby.

But I think that crooked spire looks absolutely mint. It's quirky and cool, like something out of a Tim Burton film, only cool... and not about father-issues.

to visit my Mrs's Nana before she passed away. She used to tell us that the spire was crooked because the devil leaned on it.
Chesterfield is alright though, certainly better than Rochdale, Bury or Bolton.

Bad-mouth Bury again and I shall have to ask you to step outside, good sir!
Yes, it may be a shitehole, but it's the shitehole I grew up in (with no lasting side-effects).

I work just outside Chesterfield and that spire is for real...and I have to say, I went out there a few weeks back with the guys I work with, and its one of the loveliest friendliest places I've been out in, so stop with your dissing of it...I liked it, so there

in my alter ego as barmaid...I met some mad cornish bellringers (I live in derby, they were on tour) and they rang in that twisty spire...and it moves as the bells ring...how cool is that!!

it is great at night - because it is only a town all the pubs and clubs are literally next door to each other.
Just not always so great in the cold light of day.

I did'nt mind it that much, that said though, I worked there at night in some of the bars.
The Beach was quite fun (it'd just opened at the time..) and I did a New Years Eve in Xanadu (before it shut down obviously)
A definite cattle market that place..
That spiral is definetly not photoshopped.
