A friend did that once.
Had about 8 plants grow to around 5' high in a small room -- the smell was great! The only downside is if you're caught any money you saved over paying the local dealer will be lost during your unemployment due to a criminal record.

To grow they needs lots and lots of sunlight, so keeping them hidden is quite tricky.
