I'm broke, you're broke, we're all broke. Even the smug guy on the balcony with the croissant hasn't got two AmEx gold cards to rub together these days. Tell everybody your schemes to save cash.

Even in winter, I seldom have the heating on more than 2 hours a day. My previous house had no loft insulation and it took a lot more time and money to heat the house.
This may seem obvious, but I've lost count of the number of so-called-green friends who don't have proper loft insulation and end up using far more gas than I do.

If it's working and flue-gas analysis shows efficiency is within manufacturers tolerances then leave well alone. Especially if it gets as little use as yours.
Yeah, insulation is where it's at.

Draft proofing.
I got a little infra red temperature gauge from Maplins for £15. Point it around the place, you can see where cold air is getting in.
Our crappy front door was letting a gale blow underneath. One sausage shaped draft excluder later, the hall is noticeably warmer.

And have you saved the £15 the infra-red monitor cost yet?

Had the magnificent idea of insulating every house ever in the whole country.
But what happens when you cross free stuff with the fucktarded descendants of convicts?
Wide-spread rorting + several deaths later = scheme abandoned.
