my wife ran her Seat Ibiza Diesel on cooking oil fine Believe it or not cooking oil brand new from the shops is cheaper than diesel per litre !!
The only issues we had were the in line fuel filters becoming blocked quicker but these were easy to replace.
As for recycling used cooking oil
that i have always thought is too much work
time and dangerous equipment for too little a gain.

Well, it'll work OK in some cars......but even then, it's still not exactly good for it.
The fuel system is designed to pump diesel, and that's a lot thinner than chip oil, whether new or used.
Even Biodiesel's not good, though I'm not quite sure why.

I read once that the diesel engine was originaly designed for use with bio fuels but the advent of ww2 meant diesel was easier and quicker to source and stayed that way ever since. But then they never had our government raping them on tax in those days...
