If you have loads of change that you want to "change up", don't use the coinsstar machines in supermarkets. These take 10% of your cash off you. Instead, everytime you need to get 20 items or less, take a big bag of change with you and use the self-service tills. These will take as much change as you can throw at them.

also, most banks will only let you pay in 5 bags a day for no reason whatsoever.

let you pay in more than 5 bags if its going into a childrens account.

have coinstar-type machines in the lobby, which will pay as much as you can throw at it straight into your account with no fee. I paid £190 in loose change into one the other day.

It might be worth choosing a very quiet time in the shop to do this otherwise you may be getting things thrown at you - eggs, tomatoes and the like - from disgruntled customers who have to wait even longer than normal....
