This is a question Money-saving tips

I'm broke, you're broke, we're all broke. Even the smug guy on the balcony with the croissant hasn't got two AmEx gold cards to rub together these days. Tell everybody your schemes to save cash.

Got change?
If you have loads of change that you want to "change up", don't use the coinsstar machines in supermarkets. These take 10% of your cash off you. Instead, everytime you need to get 20 items or less, take a big bag of change with you and use the self-service tills. These will take as much change as you can throw at them.

Some banks/building societies
let you pay in more than 5 bags if its going into a childrens account.

some banks
have coinstar-type machines in the lobby, which will pay as much as you can throw at it straight into your account with no fee. I paid £190 in loose change into one the other day.

It might be worth choosing a very quiet time in the shop to do this otherwise you may be getting things thrown at you - eggs, tomatoes and the like - from disgruntled customers who have to wait even longer than normal....
