Our school assemblies were often presided over by the local vicar, who once warned us of the dreadful dangers of mixing with "Rods and Mockers". One of the cool teachers laughed. Tell us about mad headteachers and assemblies gone wrong.

We all like sheep
The original lyric was "We all, like sheep, have gone astray".

A large proportion of the assembled singers would omit the last three words completely, rendering the hymn as a paean our ovine cousins, and possibly the committing of unnatural acts with them...

One of the benefits of assemblies is that it give plenty of opportunity to consider how best to subvert innocent lyrics.
