This is a question Inflated Self-Importance

Amorous Badger asks: Tell us tales of people who have a high opinion of themselves. Jumped-up officials, the mad old bloke who runs the Neighbourhood Watch like it's a military operation, Colonel Blimps, pompous bastards and people stuck up their own arse.

The only minor problem with this is that it's completely wrong.
We did tests about ten years ago when the Mail carried some bollocks story about it. I've no idea where you got the RF inductor part from ... that sounds like a new addition. And pretty much impossible. The only part of a mobile phone that could ever generate enough of a spark to ignite petrol vapour (let alone liquid petrol) is the battery connection. You'd need to put the phone in the mouth of the tank (that's about the only place with a high enough concentration of vapour) and deliberately prise the battery off or short the charging terminals. That's the part that people spend a shitload of money protecting for the radios that emergency service bods use. The rest of it couldn't light petrol even if you wanted to.

Nobody in the history of the world has ever set fire to a petrol station with a mobile phone or any other consumer wireless device unless they've attached it to a bomb.

tl;dr: bollicks

Bollocks or not, COSHH regulations are against it, and they will remain so until definitive, rigorous proof of mobile phones' safety is submitted and reviewed through the official channels.

Created to stop something that is a myth, to saisfy the right wing press induced fear of the irrelevant on their readership/viewers while they continue to consume vast amounts of ciggies, booze and fast food sold by their advertisers.

You prick.
Honestly ... all you needed to do was type "thank you for correcting my misunderstanding" ... how hard could it be?
