Yes, the fingers may be used but there is the chance of nasal passage tearing as I describe.Tweezers generally avoid unnecessary and undignified nose plaster.

I do know what you mean though...... many a time I have had to deal with some kind of eye wateringly painful sore in the soft tissues of my nasal passage caused by exactly this.
It doesn't stop me ripping the bastards out, however; it just strengthens my resolve to not let my nostrils win.
