Personally, last month a scantily clad young woman confused me with her fiance, with whom I share a first and last name. I'm still not sure she's noticed, but she's going to be mortified when she does.

Not yet....... to be frank wrote the above post in an odd mood, but won't edit as that's cheating.
I'm not a fan of the Chomsky at the best of times, but my tirade was not really directed at him. It was directed at the people who act all superior whenever social networking is mentioned as they don't do it because they're too cool. And most of said people read the Guardian. And Chomsky. And believe both a little too uncritically.
(Chomsky = undoubtedly clever chap, which is why he irritates me. Like Dawkins, makes some logical leaps which he must know are not justified)
