Fiction should still be self-consistent.If Superman suddenly became immune to Kryptonite on Wednesdays and Fridays because the writers fucked up I'm sure that would ruin it for a lot of people.
Not that Superman is worth watching due to already being fucked in the self-consistency department anyhow.
