In case you are wondering, Portsmouth beach in the fog. Very strange waking up to that.

Morning gunfireI have just remembered another one. I was hiking with a mate in Northumberland, and we camped by a stream in the middle of nowhere. At 7am, we were woken by multiple 3-round bursts of gunfire, coming from all around us.
Fearing the worst - invasion by the Danes - I was very relieved to find out that it was just some of our esteemed squadies on a practice search mission.
