This is a question Amazing displays of ignorance

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

I had a friend Chris
who was a bit confused about sealife. He thought that dolphins were fish, which was fair enough - but he also thought that mermaids were real, but seahorses made up.

Sealife

well, to complicate matters:
There are two species of fish of the Coryphaenidae family that are sometimes referred to as dolphins (Coryphaena hippurus and Coryphaena equiselis).

These are, of course, unrelated to the families Delphinidae (oceanic dolphins)and Platanistoidea (river dolphins); the mammals to which the generic term "Dolphin" is more commonly applied.
